Have you completed your required Quad Code of Ethics Training?
Effective January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2004, and for successive four year periods thereafter, REALTORS® are required to complete quadrennial ethics training of not less than two hours and thirty minutes (2 ½ hrs.) of instructional time. REALTORS® completing such training during any four year cycle shall not be required to complete additional ethics training in respect of this requirement as a requirement of membership in any other board or association. This has nothing to do with retaining your real estate license, but it is a requirement by NAR in order to maintain membership in a REALTOR® Association.
We are now in cycle 4 (Four) which runs from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016.
A REALTOR® completing the New Member Code of Ethics Orientation during any four year cycle shall not be required to complete additional ethics training in respect of this requirement until a new four year cycle commences.
This ethics training is a requirement from the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® in order to maintain REALTOR® membership. Failure to complete the require periodic ethics training shall be considered a violation of membership duty. Failure to meet the requirement for the fourth (2013-2016) cycle and subsequent four (4) year cycles will result in suspension of membership for the first two months (January and February) of the year following the end of any four (4) year cycle or until the requirement is met, whichever occurs sooner. On March 1 of that year, the membership of a member who is still suspended as of that date will be automatically terminated.
GTAR will offer this course locally at least twice before the compliance date. Course date(s) TBD. GTAR has a record of those in compliance and those needing the course. You may call us at 328-7800 if you have a question.
